hi got a lovley litle 205 but it went bang. so got a new engine for it.

406 sri 2.0 turbo engine. so far i have sorted out the bottom end ballenced crank new shells rings and mi16 flywheeel and got hold of a mapable ecu

but having big problems with which head to run. the standerd 8v has an exhaust port of 37mm at the exhaust and i was going to put a 205gti head on it but there exhaust ports are at 32mm does anyone know of a well breething head that would fit on allowing me to run lowercompression and therefor a larger turbo and moor boost?.. has anyone modified the 406 2.0 8v turbo engine before and could give me pointers??..

I would not worry too much about the head, it is the turbo which is the key to making the power.

Don't know about well breathing as it has smaller and shorter valves, but the DFZ (1.9L 105hp) head has 49cc chambers, rather than 34cc like most XU9 heads.

We have one on std head with TT manifold and 28 turbo making 250bhp and 280 ft lbs of torque, I have a complete engine built to the same spec will come with everything I have left will need turbo and management, I can guarantee It will make the same power with the right turbo & management.

Was set up at Emerald by Dave Walker it has three maps, one at .5 bar, one at 1 bar and one at 1.2, obviously the 1.2 bar is max power and thats with 440cc injectors nearly maxxed out although still makes 220lbs ft at 1 bar, accelerates like nothing else Ive experienced despite having really tall gears (1.9 Gti 1st to 4th and Mi 5th) with a 3.59 fd and will happily sit at 90 at 3k in 5th and still accelerate with a vengeance !
