Bias Brake Pedal Box

Recommended Posts

Iain-gti

Hi,

I have done a search and couldn't find anything, but fitting a bias brake pedal box removes the brake servo? Is this still road legal?

If there is a topic out there link please.

Thanks in advance

Iain

Yes it is road legal. It is however a bit of an acquired taste as the pedal is very firm, and you really do have to push hard to stop quickly. However the harder you push the harder you stop, it is very linear.

Most people that drive one for the first time do not like it.

Both my 205's have a pedal box in.

I hated mine on my previous rally car, it was promtly sold on.

No confidence at all, I was literally pulling the steering wheel off to stop and I'm no 2 stone weakling.........

I even tried different cylinders but to no avail.

Maybe it was a case of poor pedal box and bad setup?, but it has really put me off them.

I got on well with a 205 Rally car I had a play in around Llandow, took a while to get used to, but once you got used to it they were great as it was so easy to modulate the brakes.

Bremsport 4 Pots over 280mm belled grooved discs, with Hawk Rallycross pads and Pagid blues at the back.

One thing I would say, is that you definitely need the bulkhead to be reinforced and braced as a non-servo pedal box will highlight how much flex there is.

Thats brilliant, was thinking as i can adjust braking forces and I am doing the '6 conversion so ill have some more space. Any good places to get one can be second hand or new.
