Gti6 Oil Cooling Option

ok at the moment i have the standard water spec cooler on my 205 gti6 however i havnt plumbed it in so its doing nothing.. Would you really consider an oilcoller on a standard spec 205 engine required or ?

What are you doing with it? Regular trackdays and you'll almost certainly need some form of oil cooler, whereas on the road you won't.

plan is for first just to run it on the road, however eventually i want to get it on the tracks.. i guess i have oil temp i can just keep an eye on it to see how warm ir actually gets.

I might get one just for the pure novalty of having an oil cooler (on a thermostat) as we all know they are freakin cool!

 

Any ho, on a hot summers day when giving it the beans you may actually need it!

Maybe in the summer, but at the moment you will struggle to keep the oil hot enough! I only just cracked 100 degrees at Oulton last week. My opinion, fit a thermostat and have a way to blank the cooler off too.
