Back To The Pug Fold!

After selling my 205 Mi the other weekend I have been very sad not to have something rattly and French on the drive. The Legacy is amazing, really quick, very comfy and importantly it still does handle well - sure not as nimble through the twisties but is very competent for its size and weight.

Anyway part of the story of selling both cars was to look for a suitable car so the other half can finish learning to drive. We started looking, watching loads of cars on eBay, phoning people up on Autotrader who never got back etc and then all of a sudden our local freebie rag drops through the door. What's in there but a 106 1.5 XND, M reg 124k miles £450 8 miles away. Thinking it would be gone at that price I left a message anyway. Half hour later call back, hour later we go see it another hour later the guy drops it off at our place. :)

10 months Tax, 10 months MOT, 2 new tyres a bootful of spares from when this chap's friend wrote of his 106 and a Haynes manual. All for the princely sum of £400 - result!

It's a bit basic and slow but at least it's a Pug, I'm actually looking forward to tidying it up a bit and putting things like central locking and whatnot to it.

Now the missus can drive ME to work :D

I have a real soft soft for 106's, particularly a S1. I think they are quite pretty and loads of fun whichever guise they are.

Get some Rallye stripes on her and you will be having fun in no time.

Some photos would be good.

I'll take some now, with the roof wet it doesn't show up all the lacquer peel.

Truth be told it is a bit of a banger, but it starts and runs, the suspension isn't shot so for that money we don't really care about the cosmetics

Normally aspirated diesels are all about mpt not mph

I did 836 on my latest session, and didn't go over 60 mph the whole tank, including over half of it on motorways

Miles Per Tank for the win :D
