Top Part Of The Steering Rack,

Recommended Posts

SurGie

Hi member's,

I might be fitting the splined quick rack and wonder if it matters which top rack i use (ie splined or flat). Are all the top racks the same no matter which type the lower bottom column is ?

I have a spare top rack that came from an unknown 205gti and it measures 19.5 inches in length, which type is that one from ?

Cheers

I have found all the steering columns (upper rack) to be the same.

There is a difference in the steering lock and ignition barrel in some models (early vs late I believe) Had this problem recently.

Hi Paul,

Thanks mate.

I did a little more research this morning and found THIS, it seems the parts cat only have the one top column. I'm glad because no matter which lower column i get i wont have to buy another top rack.

Off topic but, i still have that T-shirt if you still want it Paul ??

Cheers
