Mi16 With 200hp - Sparkplugs ?, Exhaust ?

Recommended Posts

Hello !

I'am building a new raceengine for my 205 rallyecar. It will be a fully rebuilt D6C with 45er dbilas throttlebodies,

PeterT cams, Megasquirt.......I think in the end i will get about 200hp out of it.

What spark plugs can you recomend for such an engine ?

I want to use the exhaust manifold and downpipe from a 309GTI16V because i allready have one :-)

Maybe i will use the centerbox and endbox from the 309GTI16V too because i don't want the

car to be to loud.

I know that it will fit in a 205 with some modifications but do you think the diameter of this

exhaustsystem is big enough to scope with 200-210hp ?

Can the original 205 GTI fuel pump handle 200hp ?

Regards,

Andy

I use a standard fuel pump on my mi16 powered 205 that puts out 199bhp.

I use NGK bcp7et spark plugs too and seem to be fine for the rallying i'm doing.

No problems with the exhaust and fuel pump at that power.

You should only need a colder spark plug if you run lots of compression.

Thanks for the answers !

So the exhaust is no limiting factor...good to hear that :-)

Compression will be approximately 10.6-10.7 : 1

Andy

I run 12.5:1 compression and a colder plug helped control det. I doubt you will need to worry.
