Fan Belt Noisy?

Hi guys,

 

Whats the noise when a car is started up and makes a high pitched whining noise then goes after 30 seconds of driving? The noise the old cars seem to make in winter months!

Mine has just started to do it and i wonder what i have to do to sort it!

Alternator belt maybe? Has a tensioner on it to tighten.

A quick bodge for now is some talcum powder on the belt :lol:
