Running Rich, smelly Exhaust And Bad Economy

Recommended Posts

Vz_ace

Hello guys!

I think my pug is too thirsty and his exaust is really bad. gas consumption is 10l/100 km, co level is very high (smells bad as hell;),but i think it pulls quite well. The tickover is lumpy. it also consumes a little bit of oil.

what do you think? i tried to replace the ecu water temp sensor (used but...) and there iwas not any improvements. i also tried with turning in the bolt on the TB and nothing better. What do you think?where must begin to solve the problem (s)? what is the most probable faulty part? AFM,injectors or anything else?

the biggest problem for me is that damn smell!

thanks fot the answers and tips.

cheers,

V.Zaloznik

if my maths is correct then that is 28 mpg, which is not unreasonable at all in a 205, however the most likely candidate given you have already replaced the temperature sender is the AFM.

adjusting the screw on the T/B does not adjust fuel mixture at all, it is an idle speed screw.

I had similar problem with mine, cleaned the AFM and it was much better, changed the plugs and it was perfect.

Try with cleaning or maybe with another AFM.

Good luck

Irridium.....NO

Cleaning....YES you can clean everything you want,it's worth trying before changing parts (AFM)

Cheers,

could wrongly set ignition timing decisively affect the bad combustion and high CO levels?

Oil consumption is likely to be old and hard valve stem seals. Most of the Fueling issues have already been adress only one more thing i could think of was check the cam timing.

Thanks

Phil
