Has My Ignition Module Expired...

Recommended Posts

series111

Hi all i will start from the beginning i set of for work on friday morning (mi16 motronic 3 row ecu )and it took several turns of the engine to fire where up until that point it started on the button i put it down to being cold as i got work no problem which is a good 12 miles away .

finished work later that afternoon and again it took several turns to start but it started so i continued on home to only get 3 miles into my journey and it just cut out and would not start again ..

on further investigation i have found i have no spark but plenty of fuel so obviously this is why i have broken down but am wondering if these are common symtoms of the ignition module breaking down...

Any help is most appreciated....

Sounds like it could be the ign module, as if it were the crank sensor you would not have any fuel being injected.

I would also double check the condition of the "dizzy cap" and rotor arm at the end of the inlet cam.
