Merc Clk 200 Kompressor

Anyone knowledgable on mercs?

Looking at a 200 clk kompressor that initially would take an age to start, the cam magnet was knackered pumping oil up loom to ecu and o2 sensor.I have changed cam magnet and fitted modified short loom to magnet to prevent happening again, engine loom and ecu plug cleaned fitted new o2 sensor and MAF.

The engine now starts but when cold it splutters for 15-20 seconds and will not rev over 2k once 20 seconds has passed it will perform normally.the coolant temp seems to be working measured resistance at about 2kohms cold and steadily drops as warms up.

Anyone any ideas on next thing to check?

I know on BMW, non-genuine MAFs are not recommended - perhaps for this sort of reason - and certainly on the M5 they don't last all that long before performance drops off and they require cleaning or replacement.

Have you had the fault codes read? Don't know if a Peake code reader is compatible with Mercs but they're supposed to be very good.

Sounds like some sort of problem with a cold start valve or something like that.
