Looking for a bit of advice. I need two new tyres for my 1.6 GTI. I currently have 4 Yokohamas. What's the next best option after Yokohama ?

I think the size is 185/60 R14 82 H.

Anyone got any views on Pirellis Vs Dunlops ?

Anyone got any views as to what they would buy if it wasn't Yokohamas ?

Thankyou !

The tyres are for general use, not for track days.

You can get Falken ZE-912's in 185/60R14 size for £30-35 a corner, and for the money you can't go wrong - good grip in both dry and wet conditions, progressive breakaway on the limit, and they seem to be wearing well too. There's quite a few people on here - including me - running those tyres, so a search will no doubt reveal more opinions on them.

I haven't used any of the recent Pirelli or Dunlop tyres, but certainly going from the previous ranges, I'd choose Dunlop over Pirelli - P6000's in particular must qualify as one of the worst "premium" tyres out there, almost borderline ditchfinders frankly.
