If you go for a slightly older Clio you could take out an after Market warranty on it?

My friend had a Z4 and did the same thing with a BMW Main dealer.

Thanks again for all the input - good ideas. :D

The snow has hit good an' proper today, so unless I'm just going to look at Defenders, then I'm a bit stuck today.

The LR dealer is just round the corner..........hmmmh.

I figured if I threw about £500 at the 205 I could be up and running in 4 or 5 days. Fling on a set of snow tyres and I could be quite mobile again, but the weather is against me working on the driveway. Pants.

Why not buy something cheap and 4wd to see you through the winter and then think about the new(er) car purchase in the new year, when there are likely some bargains to be had?

There is an Audi A6 2.7T quattro on ebay at the moment with a lot of miles but a low price tag!

but the weather is against me working on the driveway.

I got caught out like this on Sat am with the first fall of snow and my winter wheels/tyres still sitting in the gararge...

I took an early morning trip to a multistorey in town for some reasonably cheap shelter B):D

Buy the turbo x

I ran one as a demo for about 3 months. I LOVED this car.

Blimey - R32's seem difficult to pin down. B)

Missed a lovely one in Wigan, and then at VW Leeds. The Leeds car is massively overpriced and there appears to be someone about to buy it on finance - that'll be a pricey business. Pitched in with a cheeky offer, but couldn't ease the price down.

What's been quite surprising is the number of R32's with low miles with Indy history while still in warranty. Seemingly genuine cars.

Oh well, could still be a Clio yet

Off to do some Subaru research.

Felt quite sad sending the documents for the S' to the insurance. On the up side, I did walk away from it pretty much unscathed. :)
