Xsara Vts Gearbox Speedo Problem.

Not sure if i'm in the right section so bear with me Am asking this on behalf of a friend

 

Got a Xsara VTS 5speed gearbox in a 1.6 205 GTI and currently the clocks do not work. I understand that the Speed sensor on the BE3 transmission does not work with the 205 dials.

 

Is there a solution to this problem?

Just use the original 205 speedo drive

As above,205 speedo is cable driven,VTS is electrical,would do well to get them working together!

^^But the car has a 1.6 engine with the VTS gearbox, so as Anthony says you only need the original 205 speedo drive with a new cable because old ones can make the speedo more prone to shaking/twitching instead of still and direct.
