Wanted: Pictures Of Your Car For New Book

Recommended Posts

JonnyB

Hi

I’ve been a member the forum and owner of an ’89 205 GTI 1.9 since 2004. I work for Veloce Publishing and I am fortunate enough (as part of my job) to be able to write a buyer’s guide for a passion of mine and yours - the 205 GTI.

My book is nearing completion, but I need the following photos – can you help?

- Action shot: A 205 GTI being driven on the road

- Phase 1 1.9 GTI - interior and exterior

- 1.9 GTI auto Japanese spec – interior and exterior

- Original Turbo Technics conversion - engine bay and exterior

- Bosch Motronic M1.3 engine bay

- Picture of a 205 GTI with a wing missing

- New body panels laid out on the floor or bench, wings, etc.

- Performance tubular 4-1 manifold

- Pic of a standard exhaust showing the split in the down pipe (Arvin/Timax, etc.)

All sourced images will be credited, so you will get your name in the book as well as your picture. When published, I hope to have a few free copies to give out to those that helped.

If your interested please send your photos to me at jon@veloce.co.uk and state that you give permission for me to use them in the forthcoming ‘205 GTI Essential Buyer’s Guide’.

Please note images need to be at least 300dpi and no smaller than A6 (10 x 15cm). A non-compressed hi-res JPEG, TIF, RAW or PSD is fine. For security, I will blank out most of your car’s registration.

You can check out our website at www.veloce.co.uk.

Also a big thanks to Anthony and Cybernck for their help.

If you have any questions let me know.

Many thanks,

Jon

Yes. I had heard a rumour of these being made and only know of Miles' and the one Magic is currently converting with a T16.

Would a pic of the manifold on the engine, on an engine stand, be acceptable or are you after just the manifold itself?

I'll let you have an engine picture from my late 1.9 GTI running Motronic 1.3 with the plastic inlet manifold.

I'll email it over tonight.

What info do you need? It's got the hood off at the moment and will be going under a full rebuild even with the 28k on it.

But the engine is the full power Z type engine as fitted to all the CAT manual GTi's but with the Auto box, A/C and Half leather trim which does look factory fit or someone copied the factory stiching spot on

Might be able to do the the body panels laid out on the floor before I fit them to the track car.

Might also be able to do the picture with a 205 with a wing off if you still need it?

Hope those images I sent you the other day were ok?

Hi Mate,

I might beable to supply you with a pic of the split of the standard exhaust in the downpipe. Let me look tonight as I changed my exhaust yesterday. I am 99.9% sure it was the standard one that I took off but didnt really look at!

I will check when I get in and let you know!

Andy
