Rear Mounted Bike Rack

Anyone on here got one?

I'm looking into buying one but not sure if one will fit because of the spoiler.

Was looking into buying a Saris Bones one 3 rack or the RS3.

It will fit, but will be putting pressure on the spoiler as the clips go on the top of the boots and bottom, as I'm sure you know. Arn't GTI Spoilers just screwed on? you could always take it off when needed (my old gutmann spoiler was glued on as welll but I'm not sure about GTI's) You could always go down the roof rack route.

 

I have a single bike rack for mine and its tiny! Great design and it was only £40, won't be using on the Rallye when its done though!

Look for any rack that is high lift, due to the nature of them they will hold the bike much higher and will, more often than not, have the top straps coming out of the boot at a much higher angle, usually completely clearing the spoiler on most cars.

Well I went and bout a Saris Bones 3 from Wiggle @ £120 (not the RS in the link above)

And tried it on last night.

It fits The CTR with no problems for anyone looking into buying one.

The straps go over the spoiler and don't put much load on it.

Not tried a bike on it yet though but looks as if it will be ok.
