I was thinking that! Surely that massively exceeds the towing wieght of the 306!!?

The 306 can tow 1000KG legally, no way the trailer and rolling shell weigh that much

doesn't matter, its the MAM of the trailer that counts.

yeah, hence technically you're illegal there, and if on a 3.5t car licence, you'd be at a 4265 kilos and illegal even if the car could tow it legally ;)

I guess that's why you were out there at 2AM

so what's the plans and spec of the shell?

i think welshpug is trying to say its the point that the trailer can carry up to 2600kg which means its plated at 2600kg which is making it ilegal.

Car licences held before 1 January 1997

All drivers who passed a car test before 1 January 1997 retain their existing entitlement to tow trailers until their licence expires. This means they are generally entitled to drive a vehicle and trailer combination up to 8.25 tonnes MAM. They also have entitlement to drive a minibus with a trailer over 750kgs MAM.

I fall into that catagory

He's right. I use my mums landrover and thats 2.5 tons, I then pull a trailer with a a motorbike in it which is less than 1 ton and since I held my licence after 1 Jan 97 I can only drive a combined mass weight of 3.5 ton providing the car and its contents weight more than what your pulling.
