Can anyone tell me what these are from/for?

I am at a loss

Cheers

One looks like it could be the fan test plug, and the other almost looks like the TDC diag. plug, but would be in the wrong place if it were!

Both are un-used if so anyway.

Red 2-pin plug can be safely ignored too - that's used for the relay controlled fans on diesel models.

Sweet!! Cheers guys.

Does that fan plug have anything to do with the fact that my fan doesn't seem to cut out, but keeps running (even after 10 minutes of being stood at idle) and car seems to run hotter than all others I have had?

No, that's purely a test connector for the fan, and shouldn't be plugged into anything.

If it's running hot I'd be looking at the thermostat and radiator (if it's hot all the time) or fan thermoswitch (if it's only hot in traffic/idling)
