Where To Get Coolant Hose/blanks?

Recommended Posts

daveyboyblack

So I managed to get my mi16 through the MOT with only a couple of advisories. Woohoooo!!! :D

400metres after leaving the test centre however... one of the coolant hoses which is blanked off (using a large bolt!) decided to split and leave me broken down, yet within sight of the MOT place. Hopefully they didn't see me :)

Where is the best place to get another hose/blank from? All I need is something with I.D. of 19mm which will blank off one of the unused outlets from the thermostat.

So far i've only come up with spending about £23 on a reducer/blank/clamps from somewhere like www.viperperformance.co.uk or I managed to find these http://www.fqperformance.com/shop/product_...roducts_id=2964 but paying £6 postage on top of the £8.50 price seems really steep.

Any suggestion on where to source something similar but either cheaper (on internet) or anywhere I can pop in and collect (near Reading, Berkshire) would be good.

Are there any big name (or industrial) places that do this kind of thing?

Just need to get the car running again before dropping it into XSport next week for a whole load of work!

Cheers

Dave ;)

there are a few blanks used by Peugeot on their range of engines, IIRC one from an XUD9TE will do the trick, not sure which car that was from but I used a few on an Mi16 conversion.

they aren't cheap at about £4-5 each, but are a simple direct solution.

Managed to get one from Merlin motorsport for a reasonable cost, as the local pug dealer is only ever helpful if you go down and see them.
