Cracked Head ?

Dear All, just took the Head off a standard 1.9 because...there was oil and bubbles coming out of front last bolt fly wheel end...so i though..head gasket gone ...BUT...now I have the head off the bolt hole looks clean and can't really see how oil would be "spluttered " out via the bolt hole...SO...there are 2 oil channels in the head ? one at each end. I haven't had chance to clean the head but do you reckon its cracked from oil channel to near the bolt head ? the oil leak was pretty bad and it did bubble..splutter is probably too strong a word for the leak...??any thoughts greatly appareciated...i was going to send the head away for a reckon but not much point if its black lacquered !I can of course clean up the head and have a good look but I am not sure what i am looking for.

send it away to be tested before doing anything if ok then get it reconned if cracked they may be able to repair or look for a second hand one.

OK thats a plan. i can't see where its cracked..i don't think it is. Also noticed when i took the district or where the drive keys into the end of the cam sahft..its running in oil. i decided this was normal..is it !!???

 

Just very puzzling how its bubbling oil out of the Head bolt. i decided...gasket gone so gas is escaping up bolt hole...oil leak is running down onto gas ...hence bubbles due to bolt head being saturated in oil..anyway off to Alucast Automotive in Rochdale. Anyone had any dealings ? Thanks Ian.
