Right,

I've been away from this forum for far too long. No pug unfortunately, but the enthusiasm and longing for one is still there. I intend to take a lot more interest in the forum again, and get back into helping anyone out. It seems I have a massive amount of info to catch up on though! Until that's up to speed, I will lurk but from what I've read already, it's good to be back.

I'm in the Arborfield, Reading area of Berkshire, if anyone needs a hand or some advice, I will try and help. I'm also in the fortunate position to have a big garage (Aircraft hangar) with a little section set aside as a car maintenance area.

Good to see a lot of familiar users still frequenting this site, and perhaps the odd same old same old questions :)

The fact that my old beast is still going, and now being set up as a track car, has spurred me on to hopefully one day, get another old lady to sort out.

Anyways, best be off, lot's of reading to do!!

Welcome back.......Arborfield's only down the road from me (Lower Earley). In fact, I used to live on the garrison in Valon Road.

Oh dear, don't think you're going to be best please with me Wurzel as your old car now has lets bits on it than ever. lol

I'm half way through to turning it into a full track orientated car.

C12 SD cage ready to go in.

New polycarb windows.

Heater etc out and heated screen in.

No interior (dash *may* stay as I do liek the look of it).

Sparco evo seats.

petert cam/chip/oil pump/spacer.

Roof vent (to try and keep me cool!).

Fibreglass bonnet.

Full track fueling system (swirl pot/aeroquip etc).

On the good news front - everything you did I reckon works really well so won't be changing any of that. The suspension and set-up is sweet and matches my driving style pretty well. So hats off to you for all the hard work.

If our paths cross you'll be welcome to a test drive.

Welcome back Nick, once the 205 is under your skin it takes a strong will to leave them for good (not that I've tried).

Graham.

I am still in the mob, only a couple of years left though and yes, you're right, just like being a civvy (ish). Much more relaxed and I sort of know what I'm doing from one week to the next which is novel.

Not far at all, small world. To be honest, I don't see many Pugs driving around but the odd one or two get's me thinking.

Thanks to all though, the reception was much better than I expected. I look forward to chatting with you all again at some point.

GilesW - The fact the car is still around and not broken for parts is good enough for me. There was a lot of work put into it, not the tidiest shell, but I built it to drive with the intention of a parts swap should the shell give up the ghost. Few things I'd have liked to tidy up but found I was too busy driving it!

I'm over in Shinfield, and finally managed to get my mi16 through the MOT so keep an eye out for an Alpine White with Black Headlights (hopefully going back to std soon) and give me a wave!

Taking it down to XSport next week to have the new seat rails put in, new Eibachs, plus a few other bits sorted as the car's been off the road for a year but i'm desperate to take it back out!

There's another couple of 205s locally (pretty sure they'll be on here too) that i've met locally so would be great to organise a meet sometime! I know a very good photographer (www.GFWilliams.net) who i'm sure would do some shots if anyone was up for it.

Not sure you'll want pics of my 205! It has grey primer on the passenger door, armco scuffs up the drivers side from the 'Ring and its not been washed in about 5 years :(

Cool to know more are about here, forgot Rob the Sparky lives down the road from me too but he's not usually on here much anymore, spends his time on forums about those girly TVRs.

Sorry, spanners only. Bodywork is not my forte. I'm hoping to get the mob to help me on a welding course at some point. Trouble is, now there isn't even enough cash to buy new biros I reckon that might have to get put on hold!

AlistairH - Those pics really made me realise just how much I should have kept it, sod the kids whining about not being able to hear themselves speak or their teeth rattling! I've downloaded them to my phone.
