can not find crank shaft position sensor mounting area

changed from auto to manual

Maybe you have an early BE1 gearbox without mounting hole for the crankshaft position sensor. It should be on the same location as on your auto box.

the box is out of a 91 'j' plate, the reverse is under 5th, the crank shaft sensor one the 1.6 engine had a little bracket on it, i havent got the auto box from the turbo engine, is there any way i can by pass it, as from what i no, i cant, and pretty much f**ked!!

thats just a speed sensor for diagnostic purposes on the 8v engine, you need to get a TDC sensor that goes in the top of the bellhousing not on the back.

it doesnt look like there is any where for it to go, any ideas, and what sensor would i need? i fort things were going to well, lol

Your gearbox will definatly have the hole for the sensor, right on top of the gearbox above the flywhell....

 

as for the sensor its a just a black thing with a 3 pin plug that bolts to the gearbox!

 

you definatly cant bypass!
