Best Power From Standard Turbo'ed Xu10j2te

Recommended Posts

Sorry if this has been asked before, just wondered if people had any real world/RR results on an XU10J2TE, standard turbo and ECU, but higher boost, bigger exhaust, intercooler etc. Does 180bhp/200lb ft sound about right on 12psi?

Yeah sounds about right. Friend of mine has one, standard GTi exhaust, large intercooler (hidden you understand :) ) 1 bar of boost, 33k engine, made 217bhp on the rollers

Why is that worthy of a :) ??

I make around 200bhp with 400cc less on a touch more boost (1.2 bar)

SO from a 2.0T with a few breathing improvements I reckon around 220 is perfectly feasible, from the compressor map that is about your lot from the turbo though.

just with upping the boost on standard management?

Im sure your 1.6 isnt on the standard 2.0 turbo management!

When i get mine on the rollers running 1 bar and a Huge intercooler i would be over the moon if it was 217bhp!

As long as everything is in good order I dont see why you wouldn't. Standard management can cope with up to 1 bar so dont see why it would struggle. And nobody has said anything about the longevity of the engine running this but doesnt mean it cant do. I'll get a scan of the printout and the place where it was roller'd if you like

For reference, it was Superchips in Bolton

It just sounds a huge amount when the DP engineering kit bigger turbo tubular manifold injectors map etc only offers around 250bhp!

Whay what management etc do they offer? And what boost does the kit run at? As if its lowish, makes perfect sense...

runs 220 kpa which according to google is 31 psi (2.1 bar)?? that may be inc atmospheric pressure so actually 1.1 bar?

but the article on the website says he standard intercooler is crap, made 333 Nm/245lbft

i have one with a gt28rs on standard manifold running 1bar hoping to get on rollers soon so will post up the bhp

Prob low boost, dont they have a phobia about weak pistons? GT28RS is a serious turbo and 1 bar should see 240bhp...
