Anyone Want A 205 Gt

Not sure if this is the right part of the forum for this.... but I thought that the 'for sale' section would be off limits as it is for a friend of a friend.

 

Basically, a guy who is mates with the guy that I own the DAF with has got a 205 GT in Topaz which he wants to get rid of and is willing to part with for nothing....

 

Over to him:

 

205 gt up for grabs if you want - come and get it. will be good for parts all panels straight - front seats missing. collect from south Wales. my post code is sa154br, car is stored about 10 miles from here. I do have to get rid of the car over the next month but if I know someone wants it I will try to keep it to one side.

I tried editing it but even as a mod I can't get round the bad words list, it really shouldn't work on URLs.

 

Anyway, it does work if you change the * to an h, make sure you copy the link rather than the truncated text version with ... in the middle.

A forum member has contacted me by PM with a view to restoring it using parts from his GT. The seller is more than agreeable to this, so if that little deal can go through, then it could be on its way back to the road.

 

If not, then it will remain open to collection, with Have-a-go-Al at the front of the queue.

 

With regard to it running, my understanding is that it has been standing for some time, but is basically sound. The guy is a car nut / hoarder, so I imagine it would run with a little persuasion - and a set of front seats.

Somewhere in Wales.... not precisely sure. I think its spoken for now to be honest, there are three in the queue, and it looks like it will be in a new home on Monday

Not sure about that, he seems to like them a lot.

 

Me and a mate are restoring one (hence trying to get on the good side of the guy with the GT ). Ours is down to the bare metal now, all the welding has been done (a lot of welding), so its fun stuff from here on in. I thnk we are about to re-fit all the steering and the new Spax adjustables tonight

 

They are wicked little motors. Here it is after some Hydrate 80 treatment, bilt hammer and ready for filler and priming.

There will be a lot of pics and stuff when we get it out of the garage. Space is quite tight in there at the moment with all the bits out and lying around.

 

If any of those other imps come up I will definitely give you a shout mate. And you are right they are good fun and simple technology.
