Lost My Bloody Keys

Recommended Posts

SaneMan

I have had my Sorrento 1.9 parked up on the driveway for almost 3 years now.

Just got it back on the road last week and through the MOT. Only failed on the tyres having slight cracks in the sidewalls,

they had gone flat over time, brand new Yokos with less than a few thousand miles on them.... GUTTED

Now I've gone and lost the key and Sigma alarm fob ! After 3 days searching, can't find them anywhere

Emergency locksmith wants £100 to come and cut a new key from the lock...

HELP !

So Russia has MoT tests, and uses pounds sterling? :D

Is the car open? In which case get a new lock set and work around replacing them. Ignition barrel will be tricky but you can get round that by replacing the upper steering column.

Can't help you on the alarm. You'll need to trace the wires and rejoin them or get an auto electrician on to it.

Tbh though I doubt you could do it for much less than the locksmith is charging you anyway.

No its locked. And has a Disklok on it, but I have the spare keys for that.

Bloke on ebay says he will do it for £25 if I send him door lock.

Everybody learn from my stupid mistake and get at least 1 spare key cut

whereabouts in London? a 205 isn't particularly difficult to get into, so a local forum member may be able to assist for less than a callout charge.

The alarm fob can be reprogrammed if you have the code for it and IIRC you can enter a code on the keypad stuck on the windscreen.

Have a look at this link http://www.scoobypedia.co.uk/index.php/Kno...mRemoteControls If it is one of those type of fobs I may have one or you can pick them up on eBay eBay Search

You certainly can. I had one on my old Miami. May even have the instructions along with a brand new fob.

As said, 205s are pretty easy to get into and with another lockset you'll be half sorted. I'd keep the old lockset though, just incase you find that key. They usually turn up in silliest places :D

Shame your not abit closer to portsmouth as I treated my self to a auto lock out set from a car show a few years ago with all the bits at bobs to get into a car.

Reading this has made me realise I had better go and look for my keys!

It's been a few years since I used the car and i've moved house twice - I think this might take a while.....
