Excessive Engine Movement

Recommended Posts

After a long day of working on my 205 im still puzzled to what can be the problem ???

I'll start with the problem..... On tick over the engine has loads of excess movement, althou when you depress the clutch the movement goes ?????

I have fitted 3 new engine mounts and still no fix ????

Im now thinking that either the clutch or release bearing has something wrong ???

I cant think of anything else that can make the whole engine shake the way it does and dissapear when the clutch is engaged ?

How much can you rock the engine when its switched off?

Are all the engine to gearbox bolts fitted & tight?

Graham.

there is not much rock in the engine when it's not running, it's what id consider a normal amount ....

Will check the engine to gearbox bolts tomorrow

right ive checked the gearbox to engine bolts and all are FT and now im completely swayed towards the clutch/gearbox being the issue ...... but without knowing exactly im very concious about taking the box off to find it not being the problem .....

any other thoughts peeps ?

Does it change when you have the clutch pedal depressed as if changing gear?

Definately sounds like a gearbox or clutch problem.

Best take it apart to see if there is anything obviously wrong with the clutch imo.
