My 205 is going on the same rolling road I took it to last year after I've had some new mods on it.

Last year it was a standard 205 with a GTi6 engine on standard management, with a sports cat fitted and a set of Catcams inlet and exhaust but not timed 100% correctly.

It made: 162bhp fly / 135bhp wheels.

Since then, Sandy and Colin have installed a set of their ITBs on it and ripped out all the standard management and wiring and replaced with aftermarket management and has been mapped and the Catcam timing set correctly. It certainly feels a lot quicker and more lively. IIRC at the time Sandy said it was about 160bhp ATW..... but that was on a different rolling road. Thus I'm now doing it on the same rolling road as before for comparison.

So, place your bets :) (do remember it still has a sports cat fitted)

To be honest, I'd be mildly disappointed if it wasn't nearing 100hp/litre on a rebuilt, cammed (I'm assuming an average "fast road" profile) GTi-6 on 'bodies - I'm going for 198hp @ flywheel :o

193bhp at the flywheel, 160 at the wheels.

You have to aim for 205bhp IMO...

depends really, without pocketed or aftermarket pistons you are quite limited with how much lift you can gain with this engine.

though I'd still be interested in seeing how much torque+power you can gain without doing any bottom end work.

Going on the theory of Mi's with reground cam,s, Exhaust, Jenvey Bodies make around 195>200 then at least that if not then the Mi is the better engine

If there's a packet of HobNobs as a prize - I'm going for 187 at the fly

Without knowing the cam spec it's a bit of a lottery, but I'll say 195bhp at the fly :)

Owww... loads of good guesses, I like it. I wasn't on the internetz over the weekend but I can now give the results :

Last year in Feb 2009 before ITBs and mapping it made 161bhp fly and 131.5 bhp at wheels (they still had it on their computer)

On saturday this year it made: 186bhp fly / 154bhp wheels. I was expecting higher, but hey it feels very quick to me and very responsive so I'm happy. Happily I beat the majority of the FTOs running that day (it was an FTOOC club rolling road day) :)

I'll have to take some photos of the graphs as I don't remember all the figures from the top of my head.

Cams are a set of inlet and exhaust Catcams. I dunno the spec of them, but they are quite mild. Sandy might still know the Catcam part number of them as he read them off I think when doing the ITB work.

good work! bet it feels like a v8 under the bonnet now. Amazing throttle response.

Thanks. Thats the best bit I like about it - throttle response is instant and very good. Exactly how I asked Sandy to set it up for me. There is NO slack whatsoever on the throttle pedal so as soon as you just breathe on it the engine snarls and wants to zoom off. Again, exactly how I wanted it. The figures may be a little lower than I was expecting, but out on the road it drives so well. Love it. 8)
