Transferring Insurance

Recommended Posts

skinner2k3

Ok, I just rang HIC who insure my track car to get a quote for transferring the policy to my 205 diesel for use over the winter. Same policy, 3PFT+Commuting.

Basically they won’t do it on the grounds the diesel is not worth enough. The vehicle has to be worth more than £1000. I said it was worth about £600 at a guess with full tax and MOT.

I said “well say it’s worth £1000 then”, no good as I she already knew it was only worth £600.

B*llocks, why does everything have to be so fecking difficult when it comes to insurance!

What do we think???? Call again and say it’s worth a grand?

You live and learn - I didn't realise there was a minimum value rule!

The annoying thing is I have already had quotes for it and its coming out about £250 give or take.

So I now have to cancle the track car policy 6 months in and get considerably less than half the premium back so I can take another identicle policy on a car worth allot less costing me a couple of hundred quid. I naievly expected to transfer it over for an admin fee.....as if!

Rang back, speak to someone else, and tell them it's worth £1000.

I'll give you a grand for it.
