Clutch Cable Swop

Recommended Posts

Can someone tell me if it is a straight forward swop from a phase 2 clutch cable to a normal, phase 1 cable?

Looks like I'm getting an extremely cheap runabout in a 106, but the clutch cable and hence the clutch (or certainly the release bearing) is screwed. It's a LHD, so Pug only for the cable unfortunately and they want an extortionate amount for auto-adjusting one.

does it go over or under the box, and which engine?

looks like the ones that go under are the self adjust cables, the ones that go over are manual adjust, tenner between them, it appears that the bulkhead hole is the same on all LHD cars, RHD changed from a nut securing them to a bayonet type.

I wouldn't call £39 too bad for an o.e clutch cable

Its goes under the gearbox and is a beastly 1.1i.

Are you trying to say just keep with the auto-adjusting cable? I was under the assumption that they're forever giving problems. I suppose if it's OE then I may have a lasting chance. I only to keep it over winter anyways till I save for a 6 pot, RWD, bavarian loon machine

Thanks.

I think you can change to a cable that goes straight over for £32, this by the looks of it is manual adjust.

indeed Peugeot o.e cables are quite superior to most motorfactor replacements
