Sensor ? Bulkhead Side Below Dizzy

Recommended Posts

blniasgti

I was doing a regular service on my 1.9 gti and when i removed the air box i noticed there was 2 wires comming from the back of engine next to the manifold, below the dizzy. I noticed that only 1 was connected with the other wire snapped.

I have no problems with the car and all the dials work but was wondering what the wires come from?

I have located the other end of the snapped wire and im gonna connect it but wondered what it comes from ? what it does ?

Two spade connectors? One is for the coolant temp gauge, and one for the coolant temp warning light.

there are three sensors there.

1 - ECU Coolant Temp Sensor.

2 - Coolant Temp Guage Sensor.

3 - Coolant Warning light sensor.

The most important is the blue one, this is number one from the list above. But you would know if this was unplugges as your car would run like s*it.

**EDIT** Anthony was faster than me!

The other on to check in that area is for oil temp sensor in the sump, that wire has a habit of snapping as it gets hot.
