Spacing Out 1600 Bendix

Has anyone spaced out the 1600 Bendix calipers for use with larger discs?

I would like to do this as I would like bigger brakes but cant be arsed with fitting base model hubs and dont want to waste the barely used 1.6 GTI DS2500 pads I already have and quite like. Plus I dont fancy fitting weighty GTI6 items.

The problem I am expecting is finding a suitable disc around 280mm with the correct offset.
