Don't worry it's not mine, just though I would share.

A main dealer near me has foil wrapped it, would it be road legal?

As you can image, it catches one's eye. I wonder what colour the car is listed as having on the V5?

I wonder what a 205 would look like wrapped like this :P:lol:

Is it just the fact that its chrome, or are those number plates trying to avoid being caught by a camera?

I think that's just the camera. Looks like it's tried to lay 2 shots on top of each other.

My iPhone takes 3 images and combines them to make one, this image was a particularity bad example of how it works.

I just ran that reg through our dealer system (i work for citroen). Its listed as being white...so not quite right there. Surely its not legal to drive like that?

I like how the Range Rover looks fine yet the Japanese 4x4 over the road looks a right freakmobile

The RR Sport had matte black wrap.

I knew someone many years ago that chromed an entire motorbike but IIRC he had to leave a small painted area as the DVLA wouldn't allow 'chrome' as a colour on the V5.

I'd love to drive these in some of the countries where people insist on driving with their full-beams on, that'd learn 'em!

its chrome paint, i remember reading in a paper years ago about a woman who got a new mini in chrome and no-one would insure her as it was desired more of a target

I would have thought it was legal, why wouldn't it be?

After all this I presume is road legal:

I remember reading (in FHM,so could be fully bulls*it!) that chrome wasn't allowed on the V5. I was after Jag built that fully chromed (polished) XJS to show it was made out of aluminium as a publicity stunt. Can't see the law having changed, but I would have thought that wraps are treated differently under these circumstances.

Caterham also did this when they launched the 21.

Surface Processing are currently working on a new Nickel coating, which looks great as it is. I'm trying to convince them that rather than taking a Mini shell to the shows, they should be wheeling a 205 around. Completely stripped, just a top coat of lacquer and few decals, it'd make a great basis for a track car.

You don't need to change the colour on the V5 for a wrap as it is only temporary and removable.

Still looks nasty though.
