Exhaust Parts..

morning all,

I was hoping someone could tell me what is included in the exhuast 'fixing kit' for my 1.6 gti, part number 1798 80 i think.

Does it include the downpipe/manifold seal and all the bolts and springs for this connection?

Also, on taking my manifold off to replace it and some very very dead gaskets I found that all but one of the studs had been replaced with bolts.

Is there any reason (given it's been like that for quite a few years) that I shouldn't just use the bolts again, or should I get some new studs and install them (and does anyone know the price for the peugeot stud set part no. 6929 23)? I suppse the studs'd make fitting new gaskets much easier...

Ta very much

Eck

Yes I believe so. The metal joining piece, springs, bolts, washers. Basically everything to re-do that down pipe join should be included.

I don't see why not (using bolts that is) like you say it's been like that a while. Provided you torque them up the same it's worth a go.

As for the studs, according to ServiceBox they are 83p each from Peugeot. Based on that if it were me I'd probably put new studs in for the sake of about a tenner.

cheers

I eventually got hold of someone at my local peugeot parts desk, who, although not terribly useful in terms of knowing what was in the fixing kit (or indeed what car it was for), did help me out by ordering the kit and indeed a stud set. as you said, it's not a big expense, and will make refitting stuff easier. famous last words...
