Biggest Valves On A Tu Head?

Recommended Posts

Tandoh

Hi guys i was just wondering what TU 8v head has the biggest valves?

I was thinking 1.3 205/106 rallye head or 1.6 106 rallye/vtr head?

doesn't really matter if it's injection or not.

Cheers guys

I'd say it was one of the 1600 heads would have the largest. Whats the plan then

Just bear in mind that biggest isn't always best.

Perhaps have a look at the pinned topic about putting in bigger valves which will apply to most engine types, XU, TU, EW etc and others no doubt.

I know your question is simple enough, and excuse me for butting in, but it may be worth exploring this concept a little as a TU head with not the largest valves may be a better starting point for your particular application.

106 s1 rallye has 39mm inlet and 31.5 exhaust. I think the s2 rallye and xsi are the same although the port shape/size in the heads differ. I'm sure we've got a 1600 306 xs head that's also got the same size valves.

Can't help you with the 205 and vtr sizes though sorry

2051.3 Euro Rallye has 39mm inlet valve diameter and 31mm exhaust diameter. The standard port flow figures are however much higher than the 1.6 TU heads like the XSI and Rallye.

Thanks for the replies guys! Looks like i will do a bit more research into what would be best.

I currently have a 1.4 xs head with piper 285 cam and a 1.6 bottom end from a vtr. It's running twin 40's and pretty much I'm looking at running an omex 200. Talking to a mate who's a mechanic and he said if you get a head with bigger valves, and preferbly injection, then you can loose the dizzy and run a 106 xsi flywheel and crank sensor.

My project thread covers my engine build and it's pretty much what you are proposing! Might be some helpful bits in there or feel free to ask me if you have any specific query I might be able to help you with.

I've got a few spare 1600 heads too that are surplus to requirements :)
