36k Mile Gti-6 Gearbox

Hello all,

 

I can't log onto 306gti6.com so unfortunately my next port of call is you guys!

 

I am due to buy a 306gti 6 engine tomorrow and I can either buy the engine with or without the gearbox. Now, I have searched 306gti-6 to find that the lowest price is £50 and the highest i have seen are these ones on ebay.

The engine and 'box are still in the car for me to test, I will also be checking the MOT's to ensure that the mileage is genuine.

 

If it is genuine, how much is the GTI-6 gearbox worth with 36,000 miles on it? I will also offer delivery on the gearbox but i'd need to look into prices.

if you are going with a gti6 box then i would think the best one to buy is one that you can test under load,and as you having the engine im sure you could get a good deal on the complete package.

To be honest folks, I was really trying to see if i could profit from it to then put into a master cylinder or brake discs or something to fund the project! It seems like it's going to be more hassle than it's worth to be honest. I was hoping for you guys to say "it's worth £150"

 

Tom - you're right, it's only a good price to get if someone's willing to buy it in the first place!

 

omega - i'm going with the 1.9 box. The feedback i've had so far is that it's just that bit nicer to drive than with the xsara box. I have no intentions of using a '6 box!

I bought a whole GTi6 CAR for less than both of those!

Guy selling the engine was a time wasting fool. He'll not be getting any of my hard earned notes!

 

Yeah those gearboxes are ridiculous, i just picked them out as they were the complete opposite end of the budget.
