just wondering but is this a really expensive route to go down? does anyone know where i could get prices from?

Pace Products do custom intercoolers.

 

They also sell the cores in various sizes and you can get someone else to make the end tanks.

Davenport seems to be a pretty s*it hot welder / fabricator, if you want to try buying a core and having your own end tanks made up you could try sweet talking him into having a go.

 

Having said that, unless you can haggle a really good rate I think it will end up costing you about the same as buying a custom one from Pace.

jamie /tidypug got one made for his SC conversion and i remember him saying the lad that did it was really reasonably priced, worth dropping him PM to see if hes still got the details

Rick Mowser made me a fuel tank a while back and his work is exceptional! He's very reasonably priced and will make pretty much anything, you just need to send him a dimensioned drawing. Here's his website;

I had one made up by Pro Alloy, it was about £350 and the quality was brilliant.
