Bit nerdy I know but are there any recommended books on the 205 (other than the Haynes before some one says it) .

Looking for a good read on the history of the 205 and to learn a bit more about its creation/development. Maybe even a DVD's available etc ?

Last question are there any monthly/quarterly magazines for the 205 or peugeot family (classics only ) etc

Thanks in advance

I've got an old copy of "Improve and Modify Peugeot 205" by haynes.

A bit different to your normal haynes manual.

It details all sorts of 'retro' things to do to your 205

The PSOOC Torque magazine is quite 205 biased and has over 115 issues going back over 25 years now. There are also come DVDs available in their club shop on the T16 and also from previous road trips round France and Pugfests. www.psooc.com

Book wise, there is the Enthusiasts Companion - not read this in depth

Sporting 205's by Dave Thornton (ex PSOOC mag editor) - good book for a potted history with variations in it for UK

Peugeot 205: The Story of a Challenge"(Flammarion, 1985), ISBN 2-08-201823-7 - excellent read

Peugeot 205 - not read this

Peugeot 205 T16 by Graham Robson - reads well, but not quite as good as Jean Todts

La 205 - in French but good pics and a lot of detail

Improve and modify your 205 - terrible book and horribly dated.

There are some more generic like

Peugeot Adventure by Jean-Paul Caracalla ISBN 2-201-23821-0 by Denoel in 1990 - covers a lot of historical stuff from coffee grinders up

Peugeot: La Marque Au Lion - cover a long period of time and mine seems to have a different cover than this one

The word i would use Henno is 'retro'

I have just opened a page at random and landed on a section about fitting a beaded seat cover!

Jon Blackburn, anyone we know?

Poor show to have an example pictured on the cover with the wrong driving lights fitted in my opinion! :(

Originally into the classic Mini scene, Jon Blackburn served his ‘apprenticeship,’ as he puts it, running a modified Mini for a number of years, before moving up to a Peugeot 205 GTi.

The author has experienced the ups and downs of owning, repairing, and maintaining these still benchmark hot hatches for over seven years. He is a member of the Peugeot Sport Official Owners Club and the 205gtidrivers.com forum. He also owns and runs a TVR, which he claims is almost as much fun as the 205 – when it’s working!

A move from marketing into publishing has allowed Jon to share with you some of his 205 GTi experiences and ‘petrol head’ enthusiasm, putting it into writing for this, his first published book.

Got to agree with the front cover pic, Not very good at all
