Twin 40's - Fueling Problem?

Recommended Posts

Right I think I've managed to change something without realising.

I was fitting misab plate to my carbs as i found out the garage who originally fitted the carbs didn't use any. This meant everytime I took the car to 6k it would get a misfire that wouldn't stop until the fuel reprimed itself.

So fitted all 4 plates, then started up the rallye. It wouldn't idle very well, and when you touch the throttle it would rev, then when you let off, it's would rev even higher! The throttle closes but it still seems to rev higher.

I'm not sure if I've messed up the fueling or what.

Help!

Thanks

Could be a vacuum leak due to the plates not being fitted correctly. You may have created a leak between your inlet and your carbs. Just check to see if the O-rings are seated correctly in the plate and are evenly spaced around the inlet.

Hope this helps

I do hear a hiss when I let off the accelerator. I will have a look tonight. Cheers

Spend some time on the rallye today. Unbolted the carbs and refitted them, making sure I tightened all nuts equally.

Seems all good! The revs still seem to drop a bit slowly but it's so much better <_<

Thanks for your help!
