Oil Leak

Recommended Posts

Carbs4me

Hello all,

As some of you may already know ive encountered a problem with my 205 a month or so back..

I was adviced that the oil leak was coming from the seal that connects.. (dont know the technical name for it the piece of metal) the dizzy on to the cyclinder head. anyway i had changed that and the oil leak is still on going... ive been using my car on emergancys only, as the leak is so bad it leaks onto the clutch causing it to slip etc...

Anyhow, ive finaly found the source of the leak, and funny enough its coming right out of where the the dip stick sits. i found this out when i was looking behinde the engine while a friend was reving it up and it covered my T-shirt in plently of oil...

What could be the cause of this? Is that a good sign pressure is escaping past the piston rings? or is there another explanation?

Thanks guys.

It could be but its worth making sure all your breathers are clear before jumping to any conclusions

i Checked my breathers and washed them all out they seemed to be fine..

i forgot to mention i toped it up with abit of oil at the weekend aswell, on its first start it blow a large amount of white smoke out the back enough that you couldnt see the back end of it.. started it up the following day... No smoke came out the back... i have no idea what that can be. I love my 205's but i get 2 many problems with them :o

assuming the engine oil is not over full and the dipstick tube is fitted correctly

it sounds like excessive crankcase pressure to me,possible causes are blocked breathers or piston ring/liner issue.

if you are sure breathers are ok then get a compression test done.
