Gear Knobs

Recommended Posts

maturin23

Hi all,

Just wondered if there were any alternatives to the standard Pug gear knob - they seem to be thin on the ground now, and I've just split my

second one.

Any ideas?

cheers

Ian

That rocks ;)

I'm thinking of carving one from a chunk of walnut that I've got....

Depends what you're after, i've run 309/306 style ones for years in road cars as they match well, leather clad with a better style insert in the top.

But for competition oriented cars, Quaife nylon jobbies. :o

so you need a knob for the mot?[let the comments begin] i didnt know that.

It isn't part of the test but a well presented car is more likely to pass.

I tried that, waited 2 months after paying for one only to get a phone call saying they can't get one...

I have a nice Euro Gentry leather one. It feels nicer to me than the standard plastic one and is a quirky 205 bit!

They sometimes appear in 309 Goodwoods without the wooden wheel

Just buy a bag of apples every few days. When you get in the car, pick up an apple and stab it on to the gear lever. Complete journey, grab apple, lock car and walk enjoying your juicy apple (with slight hint of old french car :o )

These are the ones i meant, they come in some 309 GTi, 405's and some early 306's seemingly. They're comfy and a bit chunkier so feel a bit better to me!

No, and i don't usually as it annoys me also, but depending on how you're replying it's sometimes difficult to edit the quoted post.

Was there really a need to post that though?? In theory it's just as bad.
