406 Turbo Ecu Diagnostics

hi i have a 205 gti fully rebuilt (car and engine) and need a little help. the car runs poorly but looks nice!!

ive got a hold of peugeot planet diagnostic software (dealer software) and have no joy opening the ecu. ive tried the software on my 407 and works ok.

ive connected to the 2 pin plug, ecu pins 13 and 55.

ive never used the 2 pin block before and ive read about earthing a pin down to get the MIL lamp on. do i need to connect the MIL lamp up to access the ecu?

the cars been poorly for a few months now and gettin dusty, it needs help!
