I don't know about the numbers, but if it is from a Partner it should probably have a 4.53:1 ratio crown wheel/pinion. Is it a BE3 or BE4 gearbox? It is normally stamped int the casing somewhere near the mounting I think.

as long as you don't mind a silly first gear and a big gap to 2nd!

ratio's are as follows;

3.45 1.86 1.28 0.95 0.74

mph/1000 rpm - 4.0 7.4 10.7 14.4 18.5

Dont want the ratios just the cwp to go into my box!

you have to have the 1st and 2nd, as they are machined into the pinion, that's why Quaife or Peugeot/Citroen Sport etc gearsets make more sense when you go this low on the gearing, it highlights the difference in gears somewhat when used for rallying.

I have a 4.53 cwp in mine and 1st and 2nd were'nt machined into the pinion.I used the 205 1.9 GTi 1st and 2nd.It was a BE4 box though so maybe it is different, don't think it should be though.That box would not really be much use if they are.

Nope the Pinion is a plain shaft, Make sure it;s the early BE3 type as the later ones like Xsara's use a slightly longer shaft

The box is cheap so i will take a chance, in the photo the guy has sent me it looks like a BE3. not a BE 4, also has the pull clutch soa bonus there, i have long since given up trying to find the right 3rd/4th gears to go with all the BE4 cwps i found so am trying to find the right CWP to fit my BE3, any how as i said i dont need the ratios from it just the CWP shaft and ring, well and some spare syncros wouldnt go amiss!
