Idle Speed Sensor Thingy

Recommended Posts

I may have butchered its name, but my limited understanding is that the sensor on the front of the throttle body controls cold starts etc, how do i know if it is this that isnt working?

I have a cammed and gas flowed head on a 1.6 and wont hold revs for 5/10 mins of starting is this to be expected or are there other places to look had the timing done the other day, and is running well but this is getting annoying trying to warm her nicely without pissing off the neighbours (who already call the police if i park facing the wrong way into traffic on the road)

The sensor on the front of the throttle body doesn't control cold start.

Do a search on here for "cold start valve" or "SAD" which stands for "supplementary air device" which is what allows extra air through when the engine is cold to increase its idle speed.
