Ecu Repair

Recommended Posts

katmav

Pin 18 on my ECU has completely Corroded away. Has anyone ever replaced one of these themselves? This is stopping power going to the Fuel Pump through the associated Green Relay.

Pins 11, 12 & 13 are all unused, can I use one of these as a replacement or will it brake a circuit on the PCB?

Personally I would not bother trying, best to get a replacement ecu if you have standard set up.

I bought a 1.9 one and sold a 1.6 on the fleabay for about a tenner so not worth trying to repair it in my opinion

if its from a 405 then its fairly common, as the ecu is sat in the scuttle panel, any blockage and the ecu gets submerged.

I've also seen it before on a 405 ECU.

I don't know whether you'll be able to use another pin, you'll have to open the box up and investigate yourself.

If its a 3 row then Simtek do sell the socket for £11.40 + vat http://www.simtekuk.co.uk/www.simtekuk.co....ch=&sought=

they do offer a small discount to 205gtidrivers members.

Not a clue!!! Its mounted inside the car and some how its all damp inside the connector, all other pins are fine just the one disintegrated along with its spade connector. Very odd.

Anyone got a spare ECU for sale then? :P

It's under the dash just above the drivers right knee. If you take off the lower panel that goes under the steering column then you'll be able to see it.
