smithy 1 Posted September 25, 2010 (edited) Probably been asked before but a search did not reveal anything. Been refitting the Beam today and according to haines manual i need to push trailing arms in so they contact the seal then insert a 0.05mm feeler between trailing arm and beam tube and drive arm in with a mallet until in contact with feeler. I have been looking and i cannot see this is possible all that will happen is destroy the seal by pushing arm in too far, should the haines actually say place the 0.05mm feeler between trailing arm and lip of the seal effectively giving a gap of 0.05mm between the top of seal and trailing arm? also how can the torsion bars be identified if the paint marks have vanished? i think i know what side they are for but just want to make sure before fully fitting.
