Uk 205 Rallyes, How Many Are Left!?

I'm a little bored and this section of the forum has been rather quiet of late so I though I would ask the question i wondered ever since I bought my rallye (March 2009).

 

I'm aware that 500 white ones and 250 yellow ones came to the UK in 1991/2, thanks to a helpful document from another member.

 

But how many do you guys think are left? How many have been put in a ditch, or on their roofs!? And a fair few have gone off the road to compete.

 

My best guess would be half are left on the road?

Don't think you'll able to put an exact figure on it as most of them were probably used in Rallying and destroyed.

 

Very few I imagine are on the road still.

 

I know of 2 in the area

I didn't take it as blunt, there is not a register as far as I know.

There was a Rallye and XS register started on the PSOOC a few years ago by Stu_WOAC http://psooc.com/forums/172-205-XS-Rallye-Register

 

Back in July 2007, there were 381 either on the road or sorned from my records. I don't have a more up to date source than that I'm afraid

AJA Gti found out how many 205 gtis were licensed or sorn'd earlier this year

I doubt many at all were rallied, they are too bloody slow

 

Proper French ones however I still see many out in Belguim rallying hard on closed roads.

XT or XR based though, not as special as the XS!

Oddly enough, I tend to see more yellow than white in the for sale ads. Whether this is because the white ones have been used as good basis for building track/rally cars and subsequently 'broke'?

I know of both a white and yellow one round here. The white one has some major chav cannon hanging out the back!

They seem to be fairly evenly spread out then! I'v only ever seen two other rallyes on the road, one in Devizes which now lives in Devon, and the other near taunton!

One of my friends bought it and sold it on again. I've bought back my old white one recently.

Do you know where? I've seen a really nice yellow one in Tavistock a couple of times but I've not been in the GTI myself so never waved!

I don't know where in devon no, i just know that a yellow one local to me has been sold to a guy in devon.
