Vac Advance Query

Recommended Posts

Right then knowledgable gents...

I have just fitted a working 1.6 vacuum advance to my 1.9 (066) dizzy.

I know the arm is shorter on the 1.6 one but it does (and has) fit.

My question (more for peace of mind) is:

Will there be any performance issues (or worse) with fitting the wrong one?

Cheers

Not sure on this. I put a 1.9 vac unit on my 1.6 and it ran like cr@p. It'll probably throw the timing out and you may not have enough adjustment on the dizzy to right it.

True.

On the boil, it's lovely. Anything other than WOT its like a bag of spanners!!

Don't suppose you still have a working 1.9 one to swap for my 1.6 one do you?

Cheers

Fraid not! Wish I had as I could have sold it three times over so far!
