Sticky Tape Stuff

Recommended Posts

Im in the process of stripping my 205 ready to send off for blasting and spraying on the 4th Oct, most parts are removed and have come to removing the rear panel on the boot ?

Im now stuck with how to remove it without snapping it ???? As its in excellent condition and want to sell it, due to replacing it with a reflective 205 gti panel.

And also what is the best form of tape to re-fix the refective panel to the boot with ? there is remnance of some sticky tape on the back of the panel ?

Any product names and reveiws would be appreciated

Thanks

Take off the badges and there's the clips that hold it on under there.

Affix the new one using those too. :)

.. had the reflective panel on my 205 :

.... until some bastard person tried to steal it ^_^ ... and he didn't succeed , the panel snapped in two pieces as it can be seen ..

Anyway it's been held on with double side sticky tape , and was like this for ages .. so , id recommend double side tape , but buy some good un brand , like 3M or so ..

Clean up the surfaces throughly , heat up the surfaces prior to laying the tape on the boot (with industrial or hair drying fan.. in order to promote tape sticking ..) put one layer of tape on the top , another one the bottom and two on the sides , now , heat up the tape and then on with the panel - press in/on the boot ... an that's it ..
