Bolts That Hold Two Halfs Of The 1.9 Caliper Together?

Hey there,

 

Im currently after the socket head cap screw bolts that hold the two halfs of the brake caliper together for the 1.9 calipers, as mine are quite rusty and have damaged heads. Or does anyone know the thread and pitch to recommend something similar that would work?

You can measure the pitch fairly easily, take the bolt to a bolt merchants and they will be able to do so.

 

Make sure you get suitably high grade bolts, they are available in various strengths and are obviously a crucial component so be careful.

 

Personally I would have thought it would be easier just to buy some second hand calis given they're ten a penny on the bay or the like.

Where do you get a tool that takes out the original Peugeot pentagonal shaped bolt ?

 

Is it acceptable to replace with a socket head cap screw & if so, then what grade should you use ?

I'd be going for 12.9 personally.

 

Normal Hex (allen key) socket heads won't be an issue I wouldn't have thought.
