Recommended Posts

I recently fitted some standard orange indicators and there is massive gap between headlight and these anyone know what I has happened fitted them properly as far as I am aware, I gather its an MOT failure too with such a big gap?

You sure the headlight is pushed in correctly and the spring over the lug on the side of the headlight? They should just push in and push the spring up. Could be a poor fit from pattern replacements, are they valeo items?

You need to loosen the nuts and bolts that fix the headlight/indicator brackets to the car and realign them :)

looks like its had a front end shunt in the past, as Davie said, you need to loosen the nuts and align everything up, starting with the outer headlamp adjuster/indicator bracket.

Didthe original side indicators do that? If not then it is an alignment thing. As has been said, you need to take the headlights out first, fit and secure the indicators and then put the headlights back in, making sure they go over the clips on the side indicator.

well the original ones were clear ones I didn't like but no there was no where as much of a gap with those in  will try taking them out and fitting again.

Mine did that when I replaced a broken lense. with a bit of perseverance it should line up a bit better.

looks to me like you need to remove the headlights and check that the locator springs in the indicators are in there, there is no adjustment for the gap between the headlight and indicators, unless they are just poor pattern parts that dont fit properly.

cant see why it would fail an mot if every thing works correctly.

I've been playing 'align the front end' today. Fiddley and time consuming to get right. All my adjusters had rotten fixings to add to the fun. Ended up drilling them all out.

Your bonnet/ wing gaps are all over the shop too mate. Set aside half a day to align everything (if your fussy)
