The amount of hydrogen given off will be tiny so no need to worry! Never seen it done though i cant imagen its that good!

ive done it to a lot of my parts but never bothered posting the picture results in my WIP

 

i found it amazing, the rust just falls off and its cheap. my hubs took 48hrs and smaller parts 24hrs, that may seem a long time to wait but it really isnt, you dont need to keep an eye on it and it doesnt matter if you left it in for longer.

I vaguely remember reading an article where some guy de-rusted a big frame or some sort, a trailer I think, in a big flat tub of this solution and from the pictures it looked really impressive!

i've had pretty good results as well

 

i used a couple of cheap plastic tubs from wilkinsons, soda crystals from the supermarket, and old computer psu as the power supply and some stainless steel from an old washing machine drum as the sacraficial node

think i will def have to have a go at this next time as have spent hours rubbing things down and stubbing fingers etc, pictures of before and after look really good mate cheers
